The streets of Addis exploded today. I'm at the office, where no one can go home because they can't cross town through the chaos and roadblocks. I am within easy walking distance, fortunately. "Atnesam woy" means "Why don't you listen?"From Ethiopian Review website:

Many Addis Ababa streets are filled with people who are clashing with heavily armed troops. Urael, Kazanchis, Bole Olympia, Arat Killo, Lancha are filled with people who are protesting and singing "atnesam woy." Busses are on fire. The troops are firing indiscriminately at the people. 4:03 AM
Shots are now being heard in many areas of Addis Ababa. Merkato and Piassa have turned into a war zone. Busses are being burned. There are a lot of casualties, including dead and wounded... 2:53 AM
Clashes between civilians and heavily armed police resumed in Merkato and Piassa this morning, according to eyewitnesses. People are blocking streets with rocks and burning tires. Gun shots are being heard around Addis Ketema, Atobis Tera and Abinet... 2:10 AM
