Checkin' out

Good news: The opposition protest on Sunday was just indefinitely postponed by the leadership; so while there is still likely to be trouble, it shouldn't be massive riots. Talks are being initiated again between the government and opposition with the help of international embassies; everyone was freaked out by Meskal, I think, and fears the destructive potential of "the masses."

It's Friday afternoon and I probably won't be online for another week or more, due to work travel. I'm heading up north to Dessie; I hope to have some good photos/stories for you when I get back! Wishing you all relaxing weekends...

To tide us over, here are a few randoms.

A choir procession at Meskal, a traditional coffee ceremony at Amel's house, and the beautiful stained glass windows at the Economic Commission for Africa Hall, commissioned by Emperor Haile Selassie in the 1960s.
